Insect control becomes a must if you want to keep your home safe and clean.
Without even realizing the fact, you share your resources with these unseen invaders at your home. Though if the situation goes out of hand you definitely will need to call in the exterminators but you can definitely try to prevent these insects from making your home their own. There are various natural ways that can help you in banishing these creepy crawlies from your beautiful home. Pest control done the natural way is safer as it does not involve any harmful chemicals.
Let us now see in detail which insects share our home with us and how we can throw them out:
Earwigs -
Earwigs got their name from the unfounded myth that they enter the ears of a sleeping person. Well, though this is not true but earwigs can cause damage. Though they generally stay outdoors, in times of prolonged heat and summer, they might come indoors in search of moisture and damp places.
You can use Diatomaceous earth to control these insects. Apply it in the places of earwig entry. It is a very effective earwig repellant and also works for a long time.

Silverfish -
Silverfish is a wingless insect that you see near your sink and other damp places. They prefer moisture and damp places. The best way to get rid of silverfishes is by vacuuming the area clean of any food particles and keeping the area dry.
You can get rid of the existing silverfishes in small glass containers. Tape some paper or something on the outside so that they can climb in. They will be trapped inside as they can't climb on smooth surface.
Moths -
Chips of Cedar in placed in a cheesecloth or, a cloth dipped in cedar oil will work as a very effective moth repellant. Make sure you use aromatic cedar or as it is sometimes called "juniper".
Wasps -
Wasps generally have their nests outside. And very rarely do they come inside. But a wasp bite can be very dangerous and painful. If wasp sightings become common inside your home then it can mean that they are building a nest somewhere nearby. And that is not a good sign, because they become very defensive if someone comes too near their nest.
The best way to prevent wasps from entering your home is to seal off the entry points from where the wasps are entering the home.
Don't leave food uncovered, as generally in spring and summer the wasps get attracted to protein food.
Don't swat a wasp. As the moment you swat and kill a wasp, a certain chemical pheromone is released which attracts other wasps. So swatting a wasp will end up inviting more.
The best way of pest control and keeping your home safe of insects is through preventing these insects from entering your place.
