Ways to Control Common Indoor Pests

We heard that you are throwing an event. It’s called The Pest Fest. But we are skeptical about its commercial success. And something that doesn’t yield money deserves to be put off. But question remains – "How?"

Termite

Let us see what kind of pests have you put up on display.

  • Ants: Little, colonial nuisances that prowl around in your house; while the black variety are usually harmless, it’s not the same with the red ones. Or take for example the carpenter ants; they are infamous for boring cavities in almost everything your house comprises.

  • Bed bugs: How much ever little these creatures may be, they are the most royal of all pests and won’t leave the comfort of your bed, may hell break loose!

Termite

Apart from these two most common pests, the others that you have on exhibition may comprise flies, fleas, spiders, silverfish, beetles, cockroaches, earwigs and oh, the stinging wasps. Now, that’s intense! However, you must know that while accumulating them doesn’t require any hardship, putting off the show by indoor pest control methods may cost you a few millions of calories. Even if you try freezing them with the eco-friendly, non-toxic CO2 snow.

This is the reason why you should leave pest control in the hands of people who know it. Professional pest control agencies or exterminators have their own tactics to sniff out the hiding places where the pests (and the larva) create a miniature heaven for themselves. However, exterminators do not sniff ‘em out themselves; some of them have dog squads that are specially trained for it. As an effective indoor pest control measure, you may think about getting your own dog trained that way. The other effective indoor pest control measures stay:

  • Turmeric powder: Sprinkle the powder in and around the places where the pests reside.

  • Water and vinegar: Create a solution and wipe the floor of the entire house (if possible, the walls and the furniture as well).

  • Good hygiene: Dispose off the leftovers from the meals along with the packets immediately; seal all containers and jars properly; mop any spillage as soon as possible and cover the bins securely. This shall at least prevent all those pests that are associated with a poor hygiene.

Using pesticides as an effective indoor pest control measure are to be kept as the pis aller; though they kill pests by hordes, they also kill the environment and try to do the same with your children and pets. Thus, to strike a fine balance between detriments and relief, it’s always a better option to call for the people who have a better idea on effective pest control measures.
